Beautiful Kanatal-Uttrakhand

Another beautiful small hamlet, about 1.6hrs drive from Mussoorie is still untouched. It is suprisingly beautiful & serene. Not that this was my first trip here, rather third. It's all lush green, rather all different shades of green around me.Silver-white peaks of the mountains & when the sun falls on them, a range of raindows making it look like a necklace of multicoloured stones.I love the view from our Resort. We stayed at The Terraces. This resort is highly luxurious with fire place to a small discotheque to an impeccable restaurant serving some finger licking dishes. Not only this, look at the interiors of the rooms, such tastefully done, not a small thing i could think was missing! A heater in the bathrooms.Wow! Is was I exclaimed. Each room has their private garden.Sit out on that wet grass(dew)early morning with your book & hot brewed coffee & look at the sun rising, spreading it's hues of different shades that you can't even count on your fingers.Look at the blue sky above you, which is changing colours with the rising sun, the chirping of innumerious birds, so many uniqued shaped & colours ;which are so uncommon to my eyes. "The Terrace" adds on,to the beauty of Kanatal.Fresh Air, so peaceful that you can keep gazing at these white snow-capped peaks for hours.

With so many activities within the hotel to keep you engage like bone fire with some outstanding music singers, spa therapy & much more to explore.Don't forget to go on hiking in dense forests where even the sun rays does not reach properly. Take a deep breath breath in the air, feel the chill going from your mouth to down your body! After walking quite a bit, sat with some locals their over a cup of tea at one of these small 'dhabbas', my inquisitiveness to check about the how 'Kanatal' got it's name & local places to visit around. Here I got the answer, Kanatal was once a river but dried up.That's how, it got it's name.Well, about the places there are some jungles to explore, to go for camping & exploring these jungles besides Dhanulti & Mussoorie.A much believed deity temple-Surkanda Devi is very famous amongst the locals here. She is the main diety there & is at the top of the Hill. You need to walk for around 3Kms uphill & visit this hidden place.I simply love the place and would recommed to people who love nature and it's untouched beauty..
