In his welcoming speech, H.E. Mr. Ton Sinh Thanh, Ambassador of Vietnam
to India recalled the
historic links between India
and Vietnam .
Ambassador Thanh affirmed, “”after nearly 30 years of renovation, from a
country heavily damaged by the war, Vietnam has become one of the most
dynamic economies in the region.” “Vietnam
is home of 8 UNESCO world heritages, well –preserved historic relics and
beautiful beaches which can rival the beaches in Thailand
or Malaysia .
Indian travelers can find the essence of Indian culture in Vietnam through Hindu temples in Ho Chi Minh City or at the
My Son sanctuary or even at the numerous Indian restaurants.
Vietnam has all kind of services to satisfy the need of foreign
tourists, whether for holidays, shopping, leisure, food exploration, wedding,
honeymoon or for business and conference” – Ambassador Thanh said. He added
that 70,000 Indian tourists visited Vietnam in 2015, which is an
increase of 27.27% as compared to 55,000 tourists who visited in 2014.
Ambassador Thanh invited Indian and especially tour operators and travel agents
from New Delhi and NCR to take initiative to
promote Vietnam
as a tourist destination.
DCM Mr Tran Quang Tuyen said, VNAT is aware of the importance of tourism
cooperation in all levels and facilitation of tourism businesses between enterprises.
Several promotional actives such as roadshows, participation to fairs and
exhibitions, FAM trip have been carried out and further activities will be
organized during this year.
The event continued with a thorough presentation by Mr Le Tuan Anh,
Deputy Director General, International Cooperation
Department , Vietnam
National Administration of Tourism on the excellent tourist infrastructure,
products, services of Vietnam
and gave the guests an insight into the beautiful land of Vietnam
and the unique experiences that the country has to offer.
The event continued with a presentation by ICS Travel Group, Victoria
Tours, Ben Thanh Tourists, Melia Hotels International and Vietnam Airlines gave
product presentation to the Indian Travel Agents and media.
During the roadshow, the delegation and travel agents from Vietnam interacted with Indian travel agents to inform
about many attractions of the country and numerous products that Vietnam offers
to international tourists.
